Honeywell Launches Centre of Excellence for AI in Singapore

, in partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), announced the establishment of a Center of Excellence in Singapore to pilot and deploy building technologies leveraging AI and machine learning driven-solutions that can deliver a scalable view of a building’s life cycle and total energy use.

The initiative will leverage the Honeywell Forge IoT platform—a predictive maintenance and energy-management software solution—to help customers monitor, manage and optimize their building energy use. The integration of Honeywell Forge will help building decision makers improve their visibility into energy management, energy optimization and predictive analytics and ultimately gain enhanced visibility into their maintenance needs.

Buildings currently account for more than 20% of Singapore’s carbon emissions, according to the Building and Construction Authority. Through the Center of Excellence, Honeywell aims to work with building owners and operators in Singapore to deploy its solutions to aid in their efforts to reduce commercial building carbon emissions. This is in support of the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and the country’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Establishing a Center of Excellence to Advance Sustainable Building Technologies

The Center of Excellence in Singapore will leverage building technologies using AI to help operators drive their efficiency and decarbonization efforts across building sectors in Southeast Asia. The Center is expected to begin operations in 2025 and will deploy building automation technologies through pilot programs with Singapore-based players across verticals such as healthcare, data center and education.

“Buildings represent a significant opportunity for carbon reduction, particularly when owners can effectively monitor and optimize energy use to manage their environmental impact,” said Nigel Brockett, president of Asia Pacific, Honeywell. “With the integration of new AI-based technologies and access to our Center of Excellence, building managers across Singapore can now be equipped with real-time data and automation capabilities to help them curb emissions in alignment with the carbon-reduction goals set out in the Singapore Green Plan.”

Expanding Innovation Beyond Singapore

In 2026, Honeywell expects the Center of Excellence to begin serving other nations in Southeast Asia based on their specific sustainable building goals.

“EDB welcomes Honeywell’s decision to establish its Center of Excellence to support the decarbonization efforts for buildings. Given Singapore’s focus on environmental sustainability and strengths as an innovation hub, companies can foster partnerships with our built environment and research ecosystems to pilot and deploy sustainable building solutions. We look forward to the impactful solutions this Center will develop for Singapore and the wider region,” said Lim Tse Yong, Senior Vice President and Head, Mobility and Industrial Solutions, EDB.

The partnership with EDB and establishment of the Center of Excellence further supports Honeywell’s alignment of its portfolio to three compelling megatrends, including automation. For more information, visit buildings.honeywell.com
