Western Digital recently announced support for Veeam Universal Storage API on its family of IntelliFlash all-flash arrays. The release of the IntelliFlash Storage Snapshot Plug-in for Veeam enables customers to take full advantage of the advanced capabilities of Veeam Availability Suite, ultimately providing customers with flexibility, scalability and increased backup and recovery performance for today’s modern data center environments.

The release of the IntelliFlash Storage Snapshot Plug-in for Veeam significantly improves Recovery Point Objective (RPO) Service Level Agreements (SLAs) of IntelliFlash all-flash arrays by leveraging efficient storage snapshots with Veeam software. This integration facilitates Veeam’s backup operations on the VMware vSphere environment by eliminating backup window bottlenecks, as well as minimizes the impact on applications during the VM stunning process. Additional benefits of this joint solution include advanced Veeam features including fast, granular recovery with Veeam Explorer for Storage Snapshots, agentless backup, Instant VM Recovery, Veeam DataLabs Secure Restore, SureBackup and SureReplica.
